James Batcho I love all of Gordon Bazsali Jr’s ambient releases but this is my favorite for its melodic depth and suspended moments of cinematic reverie. Akin to Hammock’s ‘Oblivion Hymns’ - ambient music that moves the soul. Favorite track: farewell.

about

This album is a return to the way I used to write when I first knew I wanted to be a composer. While having since matured and being (hopefully) better now at conveying things musically, I’m learning to trust that innocence and simplicity again. It is part improvisation and part structured writing, beginning with pencil and paper sketches. It returns to melodic, emotion-first composition with an emphasis on simple forms, timbres and harmonies while still embracing more modern techniques and textures.
I hope you find honesty and humanity in this music, as well as some space and peace here, as I have while making it.
